“Cultural Heritage” National Program

“Cultural Heritage” National Program (Program) was worked out under President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiative. The Program specifies basic aspects related to studying, protecting, using and popularizing the country’s cultural heritage, to continuity of developing and reviving historic/cultural traditions. It also contemplates measures to create an integral system for studying the cultural heritage, including contemporary national culture, folklore, traditions and customs, to summarize the multi-century experience of national literature and written language as well as restore and conserve the historical and cultural artifacts and to ensure their museumfication; to improve and develop the researching and material/technical component of cultural heritage issues. The Program elaboration was caused by the necessity of more active, constructive interference into organizational situation in the field of cultural heritage through orderly financing the activity on preserving and rational using the existing cultural values.
